Whispered Promises

October 7, 2023 “LORD, the God of Israel, there is no God like you in heaven above or on earth below—you who keep your covenant of love with your servants who continue wholeheartedly in your way. You have kept your promise to your servant David my father; with your mouth you have promised and with your hand you have fulfilled it—as it is today." I Kings 8:23-24 NKJV

The temple was built, the tent of meeting with all its furnishings had been brought up to Jerusalem, and the Ark of the Covenant had been placed in the Holy of Holies beneath the wings of the cherubim. All had been accomplished because God had promised it with His mouth and fulfilled it with His own hand. Could our God be any closer? Any more involved? The relationship between God and those who love Him is more intimate than any earthly relationship could ever be.

God’s word is full of exceedingly great and precious promises that every believer can claim, but there are also whispered promises that only your ear has heard. Things so wonderful that you can hardly believe them. Anyone can read about them now but when God made the promises to Abram and David they were spoken only to them. And there were portions of those promises that only belonged to them as individuals. As Solomon said …You who keep Your covenant of love…every promise is an expression of His love. No matter what you are facing today hold tight to His promises, especially to those “whispered promises,” for as surely as He has spoken them with His own mouth, He will surely fulfill them with His own hand!-LG

They left and found things just as Jesus had told them. (Luke 22:13).

The actual provision of His grace comes from the inner vision. He who puts the instinct in the bosom of yonder bird to cross the continent in search of summer sunshine in the Southern clime is too good to deceive it, and just as surely as He has put the instinct in its breast, so has He also put the balmy breezes and the vernal sunshine yonder to meet it when it arrives.

For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.
